Have you ever gone out of your path
To drive to a far off place
just to look up at night
and see the clusters of stars
that form our side of the Milky Way
Have you ever laid down on the beach
looking up at a clear midnight sky
and have felt like just another
grain of sand
So small
that you feel the crushing force of gravity
but yet so full of power
so full of pride
You can feel your chest expand
to fight it
I did.
And after that, everything changed.
Life.
Myself.
Do it, and you'll see what I mean.

Spectrum
Red
like blood after a knee scrape
or a field of poppy flowers
or that dress I like so much.
Blue
as blue as the sky
or the ocean
and your jeans.
Brown
as forests
and bark
or those leather boots you wear.
Black
like the night
or maybe like 3/4ths of my closet
but more like your hair.
You
like nobody else.

Waves
Close your eyes and listen
To the waves crashing on the shore
Listen to the seagulls
The froth left behind by the tide disappearing
To the wind rushing by your ears
Hear the creaking of the woods
from the old sailor stories
Close you eyes
Feel the sand
The water
The fish
The lost loves
The new ones
Close them
Let the waves
Carry you home.

Dr. Strangelove (Or How To Know When You're Falling In Love)
Do you know when you've fallen in love?
When you smell a flower and think about her
Or feel the ocean breeze as it if was her brushing your hair
Or when you're favorite song
that has nothing to do about love
becomes a love song
Have you any idea yet?
How about when you
whisper to yourself
"fuck"
when you see her walking towards you
But you know, "fuck"
as in
I'm the luckiest person
that has ever walked upon
this wasteland called Earth
Or as in
The realization of falling in love
when that first, serious
"I love you"
was spilled out those lips
without the heart
skipping one single beat
That's how you know
Trust me.
When you smell a flower and think about her
Or feel the ocean breeze as it if was her brushing your hair
Or when you're favorite song
that has nothing to do about love
becomes a love song
Have you any idea yet?
How about when you

Deep Breath
I step outside
Look up
There's nothing.
Not a single star
Not the moon
Not a planet, reflecting the sun.
Just darkness
Pitch black
Abyss.
I feel the weight on my shoulders
Of everything, of everyone
That has been and will be.
And then
Suddenly
You appear.
And the stars appear
Along with the moon
And the planets, reflecting the sun
And I breathe.
Look up
There's nothing.
Not a single star
Not the moon
Not a planet, reflecting the sun.
Just darkness
Pitch black
Abyss.
I feel the weight on my shoulders
Of everything, of everyone
That has been and will be.
And then

Along with the moon
And the planets, reflecting the sun
And I breathe.
